Human Need

I think you should know that I’m trying to hide,

I’m trying to avoid imploding from deep inside,

I’m about to cross an ocean that’s deeper and wide,

With different grass and shades of green on the other side,

So close to living for me,

Though I tend to feed,

Off of human need,

Rather than grow my own seed,

Something for which I did bleed,

I’m effecting changes in my life,

Turning to the blunt side of my knife,

Beginning from scratch,

With no one on whom to latch,

I’m not the best soul,

I don’t always exude self control,

I stumble and falter but overall,

I’ll have given it my very all,

I need to redirect my blood and sweat,

I am trying my level best,

But I am yet,

To rise above the rest,

The past haunts me like an old mouldy tree,

Ever present for all to see,

Trying to stop me and all that I can be.
